French Language Services

If you speak and read French, the Public Service Commission encourages you to have a language assessment.  Having more bilingual employees helps government build language capacity from within and offer more services to Islanders in French. 

You can contact frenchlanguagetraining@gov.pe.ca or call 902-569-7708 to schedule a French Oral Proficiency Assessment. 

Antidote

The Public Service Commission provides free Antidote software to its bilingual employees. This software helps correct French grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and more. For further details, please visit the website at: https://www.antidote.info/en/

Getting Involved

Interacting with French-speaking person and participating in French community events is the best way to practice and learn French. These community organizations offer many activities and send regular newsletters to promote them.
