safeTALK is a LivingWorks program that provides skills to recognize signs of suicide, engage someone, and ensure a connection to safety. Participants will learn how to be alert to someone who has thoughts of suicide and how to keep them safe while connecting to help.
This program is different from Mental Health First Aid in that it focuses specifically on suicide. It is also a precursor to ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) which is a 2-day suicide first aid workshop. safeTALK builds awareness of suicide risk and confidence in supporting people with their thoughts of suicide.
