Performance Management

What is Performance Management?

A performance management discussion is a discussion with your supervisor to discuss your successes and allows you to review any challenges. Be prepared to discuss your accomplishments, goals, and concerns (if any).

The success of an organization is dependent on the individual performance of its employees. Successful performance management links an individual's workplan and performance to the organization's mission and strategic/business plan.

When should this discussion happen?

Performance Management is an ongoing, continuous cycle of communicating and clarifying job responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations, and development planning that optimize an individual's performance and aligns with organizational strategic goals.

At minimum, an annual check-in should occur where the previous year is reviewed and the upcoming year and goals are outlined.

What form do I use?

The templates below should be reviewed and completed in advance of the meeting with your supervisor.
