Navigating Medical and Recreational Cannabis in the Workplace

Audience: Civil Service Directors, Managers and Supervisors

A key component of the labour relations contract that the Public Service Commission has with Cox & Palmer is providing training to management staff. Civil Service Directors, Managers and Supervisors are encouraged to register for courses being offered in 2018/2019 as the information presented will be helpful to you as you navigate through labour relations and human resource matters:

Monday October 22, 2018 - 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon – Murchison Centre
This course will focus on helping employers to navigate the impact of cannabis in the workplace. It will examine the key differences in the legislative regimes for medical and recreational cannabis use, and will discuss some of the potential effects both may have on workplaces. This course will also discuss the challenge of detecting cannabis impairment, appropriate discipline, and when the employer’s duty to accommodate medical cannabis use is triggered.
