Did you know that the Government of PEI has our own Legal Services team? The team is part of the Department of Justice and Public Safety.
The Legal Services team is a centralized legal team that assists government departments and delivers comprehensive legal advice and services to support operations. They are a team of skilled lawyers with specialized knowledge of Crown and government law.
The Legal Services team can help with a plethora of items ranging from reviewing funding contracts to drafting regulations or legislation to providing legal advice on sensitive matters. The Legal Services team should be contacted when legal advice is required, written or oral communication is received from outside of government about legal action, interpreting legislation, and much more.
To request their services, you will be asked to submit an advice form but always check with your supervisor first to discuss reaching out for legal services. The office can be reached at (902) 368-4851.
