Hearing Conservation Programs

This session is for employees who work in a noisy environment. A noisy environment is any workplace where machines, tools, or equipment make a lot of sound. In this training, participants will learn what a hearing conservation program is and why it is important. They will also learn what their responsibilities are when working around noise, and how to protect their hearing by choosing the right hearing protection and wearing it correctly. This training also supports the safety requirements in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act General Regulations, which state that employers must measure noise, control it, when possible, provide hearing protection, and make sure workers are not exposed to noise above the legal limits.
