Writing for Government: Policy Lenses

Length:        Half day session
Audience:    All employees

In this session, you will increase awareness and skills in applying policy lenses when reviewing & developing policies, programs, and procedures including Anti-Racism, Gender and Diversity, and Climate Action lenses as well as how to approach Indigenous considerations and responsibilities, and IT implications. These critical lenses support the development of inclusive, responsive, and evidence-based government initiatives to help uphold government’s human rights, equity and climate obligations and commitments. This session is intended to help you design inclusive and effective public policies and programs for people living in Prince Edward Island, while keeping climate change and other considerations in mind. This session will take learners through the development of the lenses, and a practical exercise in applying them to decision making when preparing Cabinet submissions.
