This course is designed to help supervisors, and JOHSC committee members identify and assess workplace first aid requirements based on the unique hazards, risks, and operational needs of their work areas. Participants will learn how to conduct a first aid risk assessment, evaluate potential injury and illness risks, determine appropriate first aid resources, and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Through practical examples and discussions, supervisors will gain the knowledge and skills needed to support a safe work environment by ensuring adequate first aid equipment, trained personnel, and emergency response procedures are in place. The course emphasizes the supervisor's role and JOHSC members role in proactive planning, hazard identification, and emergency preparedness.
