The Engagement and Collaboration Award recognizes a contribution to government and citizens of Prince Edward Island through meaningful engagement with the public and across government, resulting in a positive impact.
This year's award goes to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Service PEI Team for their exceptional contributions to enhancing service delivery and meaningful engagement with Islanders. This recognition underscores their dedication to improving accessibility, responsiveness, and the overall experience for Islanders through innovative and collaborative initiatives.
The Service PEI Team has engaged Islanders in decision-making to align government services with community needs. Through consultations, Islanders have provided input on Access PEI infrastructure and service offerings. By collaborating with Health PEI, they streamlined Health Card issuance and enhanced healthcare accessibility. Service PEI has been crucial in administering energy efficiency programs which help Islanders adopt sustainable practices and reduce energy consumption. The Mobile Pop-Up Site Pilot Project reached underserved communities, including First Nations, ensuring convenient access to essential services. The innovative "Know Before You Go" program provides essential information to prepare clients for Access PEI visits, improving service efficiency and reducing wait times. Through their administration of the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program, they help residents make informed decisions based on home assessments and available grant funding. They also empower clients with flexible appointment scheduling for various services, ensuring convenience and accessibility.
Service PEI's commitment to public engagement, inter-departmental collaboration, and dedication to serving our communities has created a host of accommodating services. Their efforts not only enhance the quality of government services but also create a strong connection between the provincial government and Islanders.
Congratulations to the entire Service PEI team!
