In 2024, GPEI hosted a “themed” Hack, planned in partnership with colleagues in the Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action (EECA), Veterans Affairs Canada, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and UPEI. EECA has a contribution agreement with Infrastructure Canada under their Research and Knowledge Initiative, providing a 70-30% federal-provincial cost share for research on issues related to public infrastructure and communities. “Climate Adaptation” was 2024’s theme.
The winning team in 2024 pitched a solution to the question: How can energy efficiency programming help achieve equity outcomes and build resiliency?
