2021 Premier’s Leadership Award for Diversity and Inclusion in the Public Service

This award recognizes individuals, teams, or departments who have demonstrated leadership in the promotion and management of diversity and make a difference in the provincial public service in creating a workplace culture that is fair, supportive, and inclusive.

We are pleased to announce that the Leadership Teams at Community Hospitals West and Primary Care West, with Health PEI, are this year’s winner.

These teams came together to collaborate and provide leadership in the promotion and management of diversity and inclusion. They embrace diversity in their workplaces; encourage respect; and have created momentum and a movement to eliminate barriers and foster welcoming and inclusive workplaces and communities.

They have collaborated and implemented several successful initiatives and have hosted and participated in numerous education and training activities with the goal of furthering diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness in their community. They have made significant strides in uniting their communities and key stakeholders in the West Prince Region. Their mantra; “if I am not part of the solution, I am part of the problem”, has inspired various groups to work together to further their mandate.

Moving forward, this year’s recipients plan to continue their collaborative efforts to further increase cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion through various initiatives.

Congratulations, to the Leadership Teams at Community Hospitals West & Primary Care West!
