This session has been prepared to assist employees, supervisors, and management to understand their obligations under the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act). This session is intended to:
- ensure that employee receive and understand hazard information about the hazardous materials that are used at their work sites;
- identify risks and recommend precautions for safe handling of these products;
- review of safety data sheet information and purpose;
- reduce the workplace injuries caused by hazardous materials
On-site job-specific training must occur with safety data sheets in addition to the WHMIS educational session.
