2026 Premier’s Leadership Award for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Public Service

This award recognizes individuals, teams, or departments who have demonstrated leadership in the promotion of equity, diversity and advancement of inclusive best practices in the workplace and in the community. It recognizes the value of creating bias-free, inclusive workplaces and the positive impact of advancing fairness and equity to build healthier workplaces and stronger communities.

The 2026 Premier’s Leadership Award for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion goes to Jessica Walker with the Department of Social Development and Seniors.

Jessica is a dedicated and passionate leader that consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to inclusion by advocating for accessible, respectful and client centered approaches when working with individuals with disabilities, their caregivers and families, as well as the organizations who provide services in partnership with government. Jessica’s commitment was particularly evident in her involvement with the design and implementation of an accessible engagement process during the AccessAbility Supports and Residential Services Review. During the review, stakeholder engagement opportunities were thoughtfully and carefully designed to be accessible, inclusive, and support meaningful participation.

Jessica approaches her work with empathy and professionalism, using innovative practices to remove barriers and ensure services are accessible to everyone, while meeting the diverse needs of our community.

Congratulations, Jessica!
