Did you know that the Government of PEI has a Risk Management and Insurance team? In many cases, you will work with both the legal and risk teams to ensure all angles are covered.
As you might deduce from their name, the team is the insurer for government and works to manage any risks associated with government assets and programs. This might look like ensuring that those entering into agreements with government (i.e delivering a service on government’s behalf) are properly insured or working through claims after catastrophic weather that damaged government owned buildings. For those working in program development and project management, you may work with the team or you may hear your supervisor discussing the need to consult with risk management.
