Did You Know - Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act

Did you know the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act) is one method for the Government of PEI to demonstrate it is open and accountable?

The FOIPP Act provides the public with a right of access to records and the protection of the personal privacy of individuals and the Access and Privacy Services Office (APSO) is a central service supporting Government of PEI employees to meet obligations related to access, privacy and the FOIPP Act

Much of APSO’s work relates to receiving and responding to FOI requests to access records submitted to the PEI Government.  APSO also helps Government to ensure it is protecting privacy during the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction of personal information.
