Policy Lens Series: Gender and Diversity Analysis (GDA) Foundations (Part 1)

Length:        Half day session
Audience:   All employees

This session will build participants' understanding of foundational concepts and approaches that support the application of Gender and Diversity Analysis (GDA). GDA is a valuable analytic, evidence-based approach used to assess how diverse groups of people may experience or be impacted by a government policy, program, or initiative.
 

During this workshop, participants will:
•    Recognize what GDA is and its value to the policy process and people
•    Demonstrate an understanding of the workshop's foundational concepts related to GDA, including sex and gender; equity and equality; intersectionality; power, privilege, and oppression; and positionality, and reflexivity
•    Name their own personality
•    Identify potential risks to the policy process and people when GDA is not applied
•    Identify the benefits to the policy process and people when GDA is applied
