1. Safety for Supervisors
 

Course Description:
This session is intended for supervisors, managers, and directors who have supervisor responsibilities of other employees. The session will review topics such as supervisor safety responsibilities, due diligence, occupational health and safety legislation, and worker safety orientation. It will provide tools and resources to aid in creating and maintaining a safe workplace.

2. Workers Compensation Board of PEI Education Sessions

a) Supervisor Safety (Online Self-Paced Certificate Course)

Course Description: 
This course provides supervisors on Prince Edward Island with essential knowledge to fulfill their workplace health and safety responsibilities and acknowledges their additional role in safeguarding workers’ well-being and keeping the workplace safe. This course is tailored for individuals in supervisory roles or those aspiring to become supervisors. It also serves as a valuable resource for employers seeking clarity on supervisor expectations.

b) Safety for Supervisors (In-person or Virtual Session)

Course Description: 
Supervisors play a critical role in ensuring health and safety in the workplace. Because they direct the work of others, supervisors are well positioned to impact safety culture at work. This session will introduce participants to the concept of due diligence and inform them of the legal responsibilities’ supervisors have for worker safety. This session also takes a close look at the Health and Safety Orientation and the role it can play in making workplaces safe. Topics to be covered include employer responsibilities around orientation, the benefits of a well-planned orientation, tips for developing and delivering an effective orientation, and the components which should be included.
