The Government of Prince Edward Island, in the spirit of reconciliation and partnership, is committed to advancing awareness of the Mi'kmaq of Prince Edward Island and is pleased to announce a group of education sessions provided by L'nuey.
L’nuey means ‘Belonging to or pertaining to the Mi’kmaq People as a whole’, and its tagline doubles as its mission:
‘Moving towards a better tomorrow’.
It’s about people coming together, taking ownership, collaborating and ultimately forming a strong and unified front committed to the unique needs of the PEI Mi’kmaq.

Please find below a list of dates and topics. Each session will be run on Zoom and will be approximately one hour long.
Session 1: March 1st, 2021 at 1pm to 2pm: Mi'kmaq History
Session 2: March 8th, 2021 at 1pm to 2pm: Mi'kmaq Culture and Residential Schools
Session 3: March 15th, 2021 at 1pm to 2pm: Indigenous Justice
Session 4: March 22nd, 2021 at 1pm to 2pm: Consultations and the Duty to Consult
Session 5: March 29th, 2021 at 1pm to 2pm: L’nuey, the Mi'kmaq Confederacy, and First Nation Governance
