Mental Health and Performance Matters in the Workplace

This workshop is designed for managers who are challenged by both mental health in their workplace and performance issues. The workshop creates awareness of mental illness and mental health and then explores how performance issues can be addressed when there may be a mental health issue at play with an employee.

Objectives:
•    Awareness of the impact of mental health in the workplace;
•    Awareness of mental illness from the perspective of those who experience it;
•    Explore the performance dilemma;
•    Learn and practice having the “opening the door” discussion; and
•    How to keep performance on the table when mental health issues are present.

Applications in the workplace:
The desired outcome of this workshop is a participant who is better informed of mental health and mental illness in the workplace and who understands that performance issues must still be addressed and has a framework to have these conversations.
